Offer First Class Letter rate (currently 48.5 cents)

I am not able to use your program because it does not offer the rate that I need. We ship custom postcards using letter envelopes. The rate we are paying is 48.5 cents. The lowest rate available through ShippingEasy is 98 cents. I love the software and service, but it does not work for me. I am currently using ECC (now Shiplark). I am able to get the rate I need via Endicia/Dazzle.

Your customer service rep suggested that I print out a sheet of First Class Stamps. This would have worked except that you do not offer a way to print out a To/From Address label that does not include postage. So in order to send my packages I would have to print all of my labels using other programs, which obviously defeats the purpose.

Hi Mike - Thanks for the great suggestion!

While we designed our label and rate selections based on shipping parcels, we understand that many businesses need to ship much more than just packages. I've forwarded your request onto our Product Team and we'll be sure to update this thread once this makes it into our development queue.

If you're open to the idea of printing sheets of stamps, I have a work around idea to help you easily address your envelopes: use a customized Packing Slip Template that places the sender and recipient addresses in the right place when printed on a letter envelope.

Our Packing Slip Templates can be fully customized. The smallest format is a 4x6 landscape, but if you run some tests, you should be able to format these to print well onto letter sized envelopes.

These articles will help:

You can then create a Shipping Rule that flags the "custom postcard" orders and assigns the Packing Slip Template. I recommend using a combination of Order Categories, Product Categories, and Shipping Rules.

The Order Categories will help you filter your unshipped orders for just those that have been tagged. These articles will help:

The Product Categories work with your Product Catalog (a database of your SKUs) to group multiple SKUs under a master SKU. This is helpful if you have multiple "custom postcards" under different SKUs. If you only have one SKU for your "custom postcards", then you can skip setting up Product Categories. These articles will help:

The Shipping Rules will allow you to combine all the pieces. You can tell the rule to look for orders that contain specific SKUs, then assign those orders to a specific Order Category and designate the "address label" Packing Slip that you created.

The rule will look something like this:

IF: Product Category | Is equal to | "Custom postcard"

THEN: Assign Order Category | "Custom postcard" + Assign packing slip template | "Letter address label".

These articles will help you do that:

Once you have set up this automation, new orders that come through will be processed through these rules. When you orders tagged as "Custom postcards", just print the "Packing Slips" for them and mark them as shipped. Keep in mind when printing that you'll need to load the correct paper (ie envelopes) to your printer first. These articles will help:

I know that there are a lot of pieces at work here. While it's a bit to set up, it's very little work to maintain this process. I'm also happy to clarify anything you have a question about.

Another vote on the pile to print directly to letter envelopes natively. We ship out a ton of stickers lately, and the inability for ShippingEasy to print standard letter postage WITH RETURN AND SEND TO ADDRESSES like every other pre-set is quickly becoming a dealbreaker. Your competition can do this. Why can't you?
