Email shipment confirmation from address name issue

Answered

When customer shipment confirmation emails are sent, ShippingEasy "personalizes" the outgoing email address with the name from the default shipping address in the current store. However, this "personalization" doesn't change when an alternate "Ship From" address is chosen for an order. This seems like undesired behavior, i.e. a bug. Thanks!

Hello Sam, and thank you for posting to our community!

Typically the Name applied to the outgoing email address should correspond to the Name field listed in the specific Ship From address details, from the Store Addresses settings here: https://app1.shippingeasy.com/settings/account_addresses

If the name from the specific Ship From address is not being applied correctly, can you provide an order example and the Ship From address you are using?

Thank you.

Hi Sam, thanks for the reply.

I checked with our Product Team on this and they explained that the From Business Name on a shipping confirmation email is set from the Store's address, not the shipment's Ship From address.

Based on our logs, at the time the shipment was generated, your store address had Procore as the default store address. Once the default store address was changed to the Well Health name later, that would have then applied to subsequent orders.

In regards to setting the email alias at the account level, however, our community has considerable influence on the course of our development. The more interest we see for certain features or integrations, the more likely they will be added to our app.

Would you consider reposting your specific needs for that to our Feature Requests forums? These are monitored by our CEO and Product Team and used to prioritize future development work.

We look forward to seeing you in the Feature Request forum and taking an active role in helping to shape ShippingEasy!

Thank you and happy shipping!

Hmm, it's hard to imagine the use case where that would be the desired behavior, but I suppose it must exist. It's a feature not a bug, right? I'll post in the feature request forum. Thanks for getting back to me.
