International Shipping to Germany

Hello,

I terribly confused about a package I'm trying to send. I have a few rare books that I'd like to send either together or separately. Total they are worth about $3,500. Can someone please break down the best way to send these?

Hello Devonpressmail, and thank you for posting to our community!

Currently ShippingEasy provides 3 USPS international shipping options. The options vary, depending on your delivery and tracking needs, and of course cost.

Please keep in mind the First Class International service was discontinued by USPS but ShippingEasy continues to provide that service via our valued carrier partners. Our guide below explains more.

For information on insurance, our guide here explains what USPS services include insurance coverage and offer additional insurance.

If that coverage is not enough, you can always purchase more insurance via our Shipsurance partner.

Thank you and happy shipping!

Thanks so much for responding! May I ask, if the maximum amount of insurance allowed from USPS to Germany is $500, would I be allowed to add extra insurance with your service? Or would the limit still be $500?

Hi Devonpressmail,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, you should be able to purchase Shipshurance over the amount that the carrier provides/allows.

Our guide below lists the costs associated for Shipsurance based on the coverage amount.

How much does shipment insurance cost?

Thanks!

Thank you again for helping me with this. You say 'should be able to'... is there any way to be completely sure? I've been told that the value limit for Germany to receive a package is $815. So I guess I still wouldn't be able to come even close to my $3,500, but every bit helps I suppose.

And what steps would I need to take to purchase this from you?
