USPS First-Class Package Service | Overview

USPS First-Class Package Service offers the best rates for lightweight shipments. In most cases, delivery will be within three days to domestic destinations. Many international shipments even include tracking to the destination.

First-Class Package Service - Domestic Overview

Best Option When:
You are shipping lightweight packages - less than 1 lb - within the US and territories.

Delivery Timeline:

Domestic delivery averages 1-5 business days.

This is not a guaranteed service; delivery may be delayed.

Confirmation Options:

Delivery confirmation (tracking) is included for free on all domestic shipments.

Signature confirmation available for added fee.

Insurance Options:

Domestic Shipment insurance available for an added fee.

Rates:

Domestic rates are determined by package weight and zone.

Labels purchased through an online shipping service (such as ShippingEasy) qualify for Commercial Pricing. View the domestic Commercial rate table.

Restrictions:

There are restrictions for mailing restricted, prohibited, and hazardous materials, including cigarettes and smokeless tobacco. Learn more about restrictions.

Package Weight Limits:

Maximum weight for domestic labels purchased through an online shipping service (such as ShippingEasy) is up to 15.999oz.

USPS accounts connected to ShippingEasy currently allow a maximum value of 15.99oz. As long as the package weighs less than 15.999oz, the USPS will accept the shipment at 15.99oz as having accurate postage.

When using Retail service, the maximum package weight is up to 13oz.

Maximum dimensions for domestic shipments: 22" x 18" x 15" (LxWxH)

First-Class Package International Service - Overview

Best Option When:
You are shipping lightweight packages - less than 4 lbs - to international destinations.

Delivery Timeline:
