Hello!
Our current primary issue is that the ConnectEasy won't start on MacOS Sierra 10.12.3. Upon trying to launch the application, I get this message in Console:
default 11:25:08.579086 -0500 Python MacOS error: -67062
This appears to be due to some unsigned ConnectEasy binaries, but I have very little knowledge in this area and my research has produced little insight.
I'd also like to make an urgent request for updates to the ConnectEasy application for Mac. When running the app consumes around 8% of my CPU resources and spams the system console with several messages per second. While writing this post, the app has written over 140,000 messages to the console. This issue occurs on 3 different machines, so we know that it's not due to a particular system's configuration.
The Messages look like this:
Time Process Message
19:08:17.495932 -0600 Python IOHIDDeviceClass::start: elementCount=9 reportHandlerCount=4
19:08:17.495965 -0600 Python IOHIDDeviceClass::buildElements: type=0 *buffer=7ffe70c9cc40 *count=9 size=864
19:08:17.495990 -0600 Python IOHIDDeviceClass::buildElements: type=1 *buffer=7ffe70c96420 *count=4 size=384
They originate from:
/Applications/ConnectEasy.app/Contents/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.4/Resources/Python.app/Contents/MacOS/Python
Because of this, we try to run the application as little as possible, starting it only when we need to print, and quitting it immediately afterward. Please reduce the application's resource usage when at idle, and stop writing so excessively to the system console.
In an effort to reduce the application's impact on system performance, we remove it from our Login Items so that it doesn't start upon logging in. However, when starting the application manually, it automatically reinserts itself into our Login Items, and therefore starts when the user logs in. Please respect the user's choice as to whether the application should start and login.
Thank you!
Hello Brooke, and thank you for posting to our community!
Normally we don't see these types of errors/issues when running the latest version of ConnectEasy on Mac OS Sierra.
Could you try removing and redownloading/reinstalling ConnectEasy from your ShippingEasy account, using the steps in the link below?
How to: Install ConnectEasy (Mac)
If you are unsure how to uninstall ConnectEasy, simply dragging it from your Applications folder to your trash, and emptying the trash should suffice.
If removing/reinstalling ConnectEasy doesn't resolve your issue, can you please email us directly, using the link in the top left of your account, and we will be happy to troubleshoot this further with you.
