Add "notes" option to Shipping History

There are times when a customer calls to say that they did not receive their order or their order arrived damaged, etc... My experience has been that this is a mail carrier issue and not a customer issue.  But, I need to be able to add "notes" to the shipped order documenting the process I have taken and any correspondence between me and the carrier and/or customer.

Great news everyone! You can now add notes to your shipments on the Shipping History screen!

The “Add Notes” feature we’ve had forever on our Orders page is great, but now we have a feature available for you to enter information after the order is picked and packed. The ability to add shipment notes is available on the Shipment History page (in the menu under the arrow at the far right of the shipment) and on the Global Search result page. This article gives you a good overview of what the Shipping History screen looks like now and where you can find the notes feature on that page: Overview: Shipping History

How would you want to go about accessing a "notes" field? Would it be, for example, another icon out in the far right column?

Based on my daily experience with ShippingEasy, having another icon out in 

the far right column would be exactly where I would look first. To me, it 

just makes sense to put it there. Looking forward to it and Thank You!

Transferring my request from a different thread, it would also be nice if any notes made on an order before it ships get transferred to the shipping history notes. Right now pre-shipment order notes are viewable in the Shipping History by clicking on the order number, but it would be nice if all notes pertaining to an order were available in one place.

We have just started using the "add notes" feature on the Orders page which creates internal notes for anyone logged in to our account to check what's going on with a particular order; would it be possible to add this same feature to the Shipment History page so that we can add notes to an order about a shipment status or change after the label has been created?
