My 3dCart store is getting inconsistent, and sometimes inaccurate shipment information. Sometimes the shipping date and tracking number are passed through, and sometimes not. And sometimes it appears later after I've assumed it won't be passed. Today I found one that had been passed a ship date that was 2 days off. I can live with the information not being passed at all, but this inconsistency is driving me nuts.
Make info passed to 3dCart accurate and consistent.

Hi Debbie - Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I've moved this thread to our new "Issues & Bugs" section, as it sounds like something is not working as it should and we may need to loop in our developers. First, I'd like to make sure that I understand the scope of the problem.
When orders do not automatically update after a label is purchased, are you seeing an error notice in your ShippingEasy Shipment History? We post a "triangle" on the order line and an image of a "cloud-with-an-arrow" appears when this happens. Have you tried clicking the "cloud" icon? This should resend the order information.
On the other hand, are you describing one of these situations?
- The order is updating "on-time", but the ship date shown in 3dcart is incorrect?
- A tracking number is displayed in ShippingEasy, but the tracking number is not posting back to 3dcart?
I am seeing no error notice. Sometimes both date and tracking number transfer correctly, but sometimes neither transfers at all. Occasionally, both will transfer, but it will be some period later. The other situation that I just encountered was a tracking number transferring with the date that the order came in rather than the shipping date, and there were two days difference because of a holiday. All these situations are random, so I never know what to expect. Yes, your bulleted items are two of the situations encountered.
Hi Debbie - Thank you for confirming the situation. I'd love to gather some specific examples for our developers to look over. Would you mind emailing me at support@shippingeasy.com the following information?
- An example of an order that is updating with the incorrect date:
- The order number.
- A screen shot of the order 3dcart that shows the date and any other conflicting information.
- An example of an order that is missing the tracking information in 3dcart:
- The order number.
- A screen shot of the order 3dcart that shows where the tracking number should be displayed and any other conflicting information.
I'll post an update back to the forum with our findings so that other shippers can see the resolution. However, I also want to be sure that we're protecting you and your customers' personal information.
Since I correct all these as soon as I catch them, I'll have to wait for new orders to get the screen shots for you. I'll send as soon as I can. Unfortunately, I had another one last night, but I fixed it as soon as I found it.
Hi Debbie - Sounds like a plan! Please address the email to Jennifer and I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks!

We've been looking into two issues:
Regarding the wrong order date updating:
3dcart does not assign a time to orders, rather they assign a date in UTC format. After reviewing the way that ShippingEasy handles this, we've been able to confirm that we are sending the correct date to 3dcart - at least for the examples that we reviewed. Rather, we suspect that the date is being handled by 3dcart incorrectly.
Regarding the tracking and shipped status not updating:
3dcart allows for customized statuses and 3dcart shippers, in general, thrive on moving their orders between these statuses.
When an order syncs into ShippingEasy, ShippingEasy notes the status present at the time that the order synced. After the order is shipped, ShippingEasy will look for an order in the same status when trying to update the order as shipped, with tracking details.
If an order status is changed after the order has synced, ShippingEasy cannot recognize the order as the same and does not update the order.
In an effort to better serve the habits of 3dcart shippers, we have made some changes to how orders are synced from 3dcart. Specifically:
If you are a 3dcart shipper that prefers to change orders from "New" into a different status before shipping them, we recommend that you:
We have an article that explains in detail how syncing works for 3dcart stores:
