Hello,
I have a customer in Germany who received her item in damaged condition. The package was insured via Shipsurance. Before contacting me about the damage, she refused the package upon opening it and had it sent back to me. She told me she didn't want to pay import taxes on the damaged item.
The customer had opened the package at her post office with witnesses and received documentation from the post office concerning the damages. Is there any way to file an insurance claim at this point?
Please let me know when you can and thanks so much,
Emily
Hi Emily - Thanks for posting to our forums! I'm sorry to see that your package arrived damaged, but fortunately you had the foresight to insure it.
Under Shipsurance's Terms of Use, you have grounds for filing a claim for a refund of the value of the product, up to the amount that was covered.
Starting a claim is easy. You can find instructions in our guide: How do I file an insurance claim? We also have a short-cut to a pre-filled claims form via the Insurance Details listed on the SHIPMENT HISTORY page:
