3dCart API setup

We have a new 3dCart store and would like to link it and Shipping Easy. However all the documentation talks about the SOAP API and 3dCart now uses the REST API and the SOAP API no longer shows up in modules. Is there a way to getthis working?

Ok, no answer here yet but I see that the 3dCart store setup now is listed as 3dCart (Legacy). Is there another approach that will work other than SOAP?

Hi John - Thank you for bringing this to our attention and I apologize for the delayed response.

We've been in communications with 3dcart to verify how their SOAP API access has changed with their pending transition to the REST API. In addition, I would like to note that 3dcart is still providing support for the SOAP API until June 2016 and our team is busy preparing to switch over to the REST API well before that deadline.

In the meantime, 3dcart has indicated that the SOAP API module should still be accessible from the Modules settings. According to their information, our integration guide should still be accurate:

If you are not able to find the SOAP API module within 3dcart, would you please email us a screenshot of what you do see to issues@shippingeasy.com? We would be happy to escalate this further with 3dcart.

Thanks!

Hello John - One further tip for you!

If you're still unable to locate the SOAP API within the Modules and you are using the "New" interface, please try switching to the "Old" 3dcart interface. You may be able to find the SOAP API credentials there, following our guide:

How to: Integrate 3dcart with ShippingEasy (via old interface)

You should see a green button titled 'Switch to the Legacy Admin Interface' in the top right corner of your 3dcart account. Click this to access the old interface. Once the integration is complete, you should be able to switch back to the new interface.

I'd love to know if either of my suggestions help!

For the store in question there is no button to switch back to the old interface and the SOAP API does not show under modules. Not sure how to get the old interface without the link showing.

Hi John - Thanks for the details. Would you be able to send some screenshots over to issues@shippingeasy.com? We'd like to see:

  • What your admin interface looks like - to show the missing link to the Legacy interface.
  • What you see when you attempt to search for SOAP API in the modules.

This information will help us further escalate the matter with 3dcart. Thanks!

3dCArt was able to turn on the SOAP API module for me. It is now working. Thanks for your help.
