New Customer with instantly Suspended Endicia Account, asked security question I've never heard of

I'm not trying to cross post. I commented elsewhere, but then noticed that thread was marked as "answered" -- so I am concerned I won't get help there. Below is what I posted there:

Hello. I am also a new account user, who instantly had my new Endicia account suspended.

When I tried to follow the steps shown here, the Endicia website then asked me for an answer to a security question that I've never heard of, nor had I ever set it up within their site. This makes me believe that somehow either shippingeasy.com or the Endicia site assigned me (a new customer) some previously existing account that was once held by someone else.

For anyone thinking I should simply use the supplied "Security Question Answer" from my Carriers > USPS > "Show Passwords" area... I tried that, and it did not work.

I cannot possibly know the answer to someone else's security question.

Please help me. I don't know where to go from here.

Hi Douglas,

It's possible that Endicia un-suspended the account for you. Either way, I'm glad to hear you are good to go!  Happy shipping!

To help explain, below is what the Endicia site is saying when I try to reset my pass-phrase. (Note the security question. I don't have a conference room, thus I don't have chairs in a conference room, and I would never have chosen such as my security question. I have no likely way to successfully guess the answer.)

Again, for anyone thinking I should simply use the supplied "Security Question Answer" from my Carriers > USPS > "Show Passwords" area...

I tried that, and it did not work.

I was then down to only 2 tries remaining out of 3 tries permitted.

Hi Douglas,

Thank you for posting to our forum!

The Security Question Answer is the correct answer to the security question you posted above.  Please make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the security question answer.

Looking at your account now, I see that your Endicia account is connected.  You should be good to go for USPS postage purchases now but if not, please reach out to Endicia directly at 1-800-576-3279 to resolve any flags on your Endicia account.

Anytime an Endicia account is suspended, we recommend following the steps here:  How to: Unsuspend my Stamps postage account and if that doesn't do the trick then reach out to Endicia directly.  Once the account has been suspended then we can assist in re-connecting the account if needed.

If you need further assistance with this, please let us know in the comments below.  Thank you!

Thanks. In reply:

I had also asked for help on the Endicia site, and that might be why I'm already connected, i.e. no longer suspended.

I was very careful to not have any extra leading spaces or trailing spaces in the security answer, and it still did not work.

Regardless, now the problem seems to have been taken care of. Thank you!
