How to edit weight on return shipping label?

Hi,

I am creating a return label for a customer who bought many items and is now only returning 2. The weight of the return is significantly less than the original shipment. When I try to edit this in the label before paying, I'm not able to add the label to the cart and the price is $0. Help! (image attached - it was originally 14lbs, I changed it to 2lbs and now I can't proceed)

Thanks for posting in our forums today,

I am sorry to hear you were having issues trying to edit the weight for the return. Since I didn't have the order number, I took one of your other UPS orders and tried to create a return label. I was able to change the weight and get the option to print.

When you changed the weight on the order, do you remember if you clicked the "update" button? I was showing $0 on that test order and when I clicked the "update" button it changed the quote and allowed for printing.

If you did do that and are still unable to print, let me know the order number and I can try a test from my end.

Hi,

I believe I figured it out. When invoices import from Shopify, if they are multiple items they are not itemized by weight on the label edit screen. Rather, it's one 'lump item' of sorts. Changing the weight is not allowed in those cases as far as I can tell.

Hello Megan!

 

Thanks for getting back to me.  I did find one of your UPS orders with multiple items from Shopify and created a return label to view on Ready to Ship. In this example, I used order 3364.  I was able to edit the weight for the return and clicked "update" and saw the price quote and ability to print as an option.

Is there a particular order number I can try, where it will not update the weight and the option to print is not available? Also, let me know what weight you are trying to update to.  I will be happy to try this from my end.
