Support Doc Tab Labels and 70 lb digital scales

I really like the platform so far, and how clean and streamlined everything is. I just have a couple suggestions / requests:

Could you please support the new Stamps.com 70 lb digital scale? I signed up yesterday, but didn't know the most heavy duty scale the shipping easy could work with went up to 25 lbs.

That's of course not really conducive to working with FedEx or UPS.

Also, hugely important to us is to be able to use the Zebra ZP 505 printers that FedEx supplies us with. I think this may already work with Shipping Easy, but by only supporting 4" x 6" labels w/ no doc tabs, this makes all of our paper work incomplete.

Many companies are used to putting the doc tab on a shipped order and then scan it into their database to keep the tracking # and ship date with the order. For example, supporting the 6.75" doc tab labels that FedEx supplies would be awesome.

I truly believe that doing both of those things would help us stay with Shipping Easy and help you attract and keep many new customers.

Thanks,

Dan Fry

Dan,

Thanks so much for this feedback (apologies that we are late to responding)!

I believe you can now integrate your scale with us via ConnectEasy. Please let me know if this is not the case.

Per your other question, I know we are always looking into other printing options and doc tabs are on that list. Please "Follow" this thread so that if we have any updates, you are made aware.

Happy Shipping!

UPS Doc Tab Update: We've been working with our partners at UPS to determine what options are available to provide doc tab support within ShippingEasy. Unfortunately, UPS indicates that doc tabs are not supported via their API and are only available through WorldShip.

Sad to hear that WorldShip is unable to use the doc tab. What about FedEx? They use the doc tabs as well. Currently we will have to maintain a seperate line for shipping certain packages that come in through the phone. Shippingeasy is great for web, but we need the cost and tracking for the phone (retailer orders) that are Net30 and pay the shipping cost. The package gets invoiced in real time with the shipping cost and attached to the box. Yes we can get the same information from reports, but we cannot be pulling a report a dozen times a day. Just having that second sticker really helps.

Maybe Shippingeasy can allow 2 copies of the label to print with the cost on the second one?

Jim,

We are still looking into adding DocTabs for FedEx. Please keep an eye on this thread for possible future updates.

This last message is from over a year ago? Surely it cant be that hard to make a longer label with data on the bottom?

 Hello Brian

Thanks for sharing in our forum. Unfortunately, after double checking with our Product Team, this is not on the current list of features we plan to release. However, I've updated the request to log your feedback as well.

That said,  part of what helps our Product Team is to learn more about the need of each feature to help consider each for prioritization. So that we can better understand your need for doc tabs, could you explain what you utilize doc tabs to track? It may be that there is another feature in our program that could fill this need in the meantime!

Doc tabs are important and valuable.

We need them to add to a paper copy of an invoice for record keeping on shipments sent through shipping easy that are not for the regular orders. These are manual orders and a paper copy works well within our system.

Even if UPS or FedEx do not support an *official* doctab, why not just print some of the basics like tracking number, reference number, service and date as plain text?

It will save us a whole lot of time compared to having to go the the history and print a duplicate label for these.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I've updated your feedback to share this with our team.

As this feature is not planned for release yet, one feature that may be able to assist you would be the Reports feature. You can build out custom reports in ShippingEasy and have them scheduled to send automatically to your inbox each day, each week, or monthly. You can read more about our customizable reports here!

Following this thread. It has been 6 years since the initial request for DocTab labels to be supported with the system. Are DocTab Labels now supported??
