Send shipping email confirmation for dropship orders/manually entered tracking

1

Right now emails are not being sent to customers when we manually mark an order as shipped. For example, an order that is dropshipped we would add the tracking in when we receive it. We have ShippingEasy setup to send email confirmations to customers when their order ships, which it does for all except these orders. Doesn't make much sense! Have the email confirmations sent out for all orders, no matter if the label was created in ShippingEasy or if the tracking was manually added.

Charles,

Thanks again for this suggestion. I have made your interest known to our developers.

Happy Shipping!

I would like to offer drop-ship to our retail customers; private label shipping is what I need; also customized email confirmation to the end customers with the retailer's info and logo, etc.

We’ve been using ShippingEasy for years now and it works great!  As our business has grown, we've started incorporating other partners that will dropship for us.  We use SE to "Mark as Shipped" and record tracking info, which also feeds it back to our OpenCart store and marks the order as shipped.  The only flaw in this (compared to directly shipped products) is that SE does not send the "Your order is being prepared" email and other tracking updates that our direct customers get.  This has led to a noticeable uptick in customers contacting our service team asking for tracking info, where their order is, etc.  Would it be possible to implement an option that allows your users to enable/disable the same order tracking emails for dropship as are currently sent for direct ship orders?  There's no need to change any of the emails, content, etc - it's purely just firing the email and following the same process when "Mark as Shipped" is used and tracking info is entered.

Hoping this is something that could make it into an upcoming version update!
