Make the sync immediate

0

If I use the sync feature, I have a need for the sync to be immediate, not 5 or 10 or 30 minutes from now. Sometimes I'm trying to get a package out before the mail pickup. This has frustrated me many times, and yesterday the sync took so long that I finally had to resort to using eBay shipping just to get the package done on time.

Debbie,

I understand your concern here and we are always looking to improve our syncing process. At this time, the typical sync time is 5-10 minutes or less. Although I understand it may not be ideal for you, if an order is taking too long to come in, you can always create a manual order. Again, I realize this is not ideal, but it is a good backup option. I have forwarded your request to our Product Team, too.

This is also a huge issue for me. When I get a new order from Amazon marketplace and I go to ShippingEasy and click on Sync with Store, it takes more than 10 minutes for ShippingEasy to show that order. I'm usually trying to get out the door to make it to the post office before it closes. Why does it take so long? Why can't it be nearly instantaneous? And when I finish my orders they don't show up on Amazon as being shipped for 30 minutes. Why these delays? Someone could cancel an order in the time it takes to get them marked as shipped. When shipping the orders from the Amazon site it is instantaneous.

Hi Richard,

I definitely understand your concern. Unfortunately, one of the platforms we see the longest sync times for is Amazon. This is due to a required throttle they instate on integration partners. As for Amazon, the reason their updates are so quick is because their site works a bit differently: They don't need an API as their site is completely created and maintained by them.

If you are interested in learning more about throttling, you can see more here: What is throttling and why does it delay my Amazon store order updates? Given this information, unfortunately, at this time, ShippingEasy is unable to make changes to the Amazon API.

In any case, I've gone ahead and forwarded your request to our Product Team so that they are aware of your interest for a quicker API. Please keep an eye on this thread (you can follow it so that you get email updates when posts are added) in case we are allowed to speed up the syncing and updating in the future.

Thanks again for your feedback!

I also wish they would make sync'ing instantaneous.  I use ebay for a lot of my sales and having to sit there and wait while you are trying to get it ready for carrier pickup is frustrating.  I've tried the competitors software and you can sync manually sync it right away and pulls in orders instantly.  So it can be done with Ebay at least.  Please add this as a feature instead of the 10-20 min wait.

I understand about Amazon limitations but when I used Stamps.com the eBay orders were near instantaneous, maybe 1 minute at most.

Tracking updates to Amazon to mark an order shipped takes way too long as well.  I am going on 30 min now.  May not make the cutoff.  Shipstation was near instantanious

I can't believe this is really Customer Service's reply. Not, "We're working to resolve this issue." but sorry, you're out of luck. Do you know what 10 minutes of productivity costs me while we're waiting around for ShippingEasy to sync? Unacceptable.
