Update Address Changes on Americommerce

0

We have had several problems where customers change their address and we update them in Americommerce but they don't get updated in Shipping easy so when we go to ship they go the wrong address. I have read on support that you don't push changes back to Americommerce as AC is read only, but that is not what I am needed. I don't need address pushed back from ShippingEasy to Americommerce. I just need ShippingEasy to look for change dates in Americommerce and repull the order information. This is quite feasible as I do this with my own order system.

Hi Steven,

We have recently made some changes that allow certain read-only APIs to update when addresses are changed, but Americommerce is not one of them. That said, it's possible we would be adding more stores to the list in this article but I dont have confirmation of this. From that article, you can see that Americommerce does change when the status is updated, but not when address info is changed. I suggest keeping an eye on this thread for possible future updates and I will also forward a request to our Product Team. Thanks again for your feedback!

Steven,

One other thing I wanted to mention was that you can turn off the automatic syncing in ShippingEasy. That would allow you to edit everything you need in Americommerce and then after you have all their edits in place, sync in the orders. I hope this helps!

Hi Rachel

Thanks for your email. This would be an important change as we have been caught too many times shipping to the wrong address when it was changed by order processing, but didn't get a big note on the order to manually fix it on shipping. It really should pull address - and order item changes - , so hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Hi Rachal

That won't work. We have a lot of preorder collectable items which means that customers often order items that don't ship for several months after they order until the arrive from the factory. So we have to sync daily to be able to ship out orders that are going out right away, but on order that sit for a while waiting for the new items it can be several months later that the customer needs to change their address. This is why we need ShippingEasy to always look for orders that have recent updates and reimport the changes.

This is a must, I am surprised you have done this for other platforms except Americommerce. Is this being voted on or how can we get this request completed?

Hi John,

Unfortunately, we have not prioritized this yet. We added it for a few platforms and would love to add it for all of them. Since each integration functions differently, we must built support customized for each API. As previously mentioned, we are looking into adding support for more stores. I just don't have a time frame for that, yet.

The best thing to do is to keep an eye on this thread for any possible updates. If you're "following" the thread, you'll automatically receive email updates.

We prioritize based on need, so the more customers we see that are interested in this, the more likely it will get moved up in our queue. Thanks again for your patience!
