Shipments Page Sort?

We process all orders ("orders->shipments") in bulk.

...But when we get to the Shipments page, they are all in reverse order by order number with the newest first (as far as we can tell).

Since we print the labels for the oldest orders first this means we are forced go to the "last" tab/page for the shipments. The problem there is that we frequently get inexplicably pushed back to the first page if we have a scale error, page error.... or sometimes for no reason. So then we end up weighing the wrong item and printing the label incorrectly. This leads to customers getting the wrong items and us getting yelled at.

To make matters even more fun, if we get someone that starts an order, then hesitates and someone else puts an order through (or the person waits a day) then that botches things as well because the order numbers are then out of order (we use 3DCart).

Please, please ... can we get a way to sort the shipments by date so we don't go crazy?

thanks!

Hi Patrick,

I'd like to make sure you were aware of our many filters and sorting tools on the Shipping History screen. By default, we do show the newest label at the top of the page under the column "Created Date". The "Created Date" is based on when ShippingEasy is able to get you a rate quote for a label. We gather rate quotes from the Orders page (should you have the Buy and Print feature fully enabled) or on the Ready to Ship screen.

If you click on the column "Created Date" column, you can resort the column (you can sort by ascending or descending). In addition to this, you can filter by date on the left of the page. What I would recommend trying first is filtering by a date range and adjusting the sort view of the column so that you can get a view you like. Would this meet your needs or were you thinking of something different?

Hi Patrick,

I think I may have misunderstood your request. At first, I thought you were discussing the Shipment History screen, but upon reading it over again, it sounds like you are talking about the Ready to Ship screen - is this right? I'm wondering if a couple of our current tools will help fix this problem:

Sequence of orders:

I was looking at your label settings and noticed you have them printing by order number sequence instead of selection sequence. You can actually set your account to sort your orders by the selection sequence instead:

1. Go to Settings > Labels > Select "Print My Labels by [Order Selection Sequence]".

2. Reorder your Orders page by the Order Number column (you can choose to view the Order Number column in ascending or descending order when you click on the header name. This will depend on which direction the arrow on the header is going).

3.  You can now select your labels in order you want to print or an entire page at a time.  If they are in order correctly on the Orders page, you should be able to select the entire column at once so that you can still print in bulk (I've just tested this and it looks good to me).  Alternatively, if you do want to select one-by one and you have Order Number Sequence selected for your labels, your labels will show up on the Ready to Ship screen in the order you selected them.

Multiple shippers:

I noticed that you only have one user. Creating a user in ShippingEasy per person utilizing the app may remove those kinds of errors. This is because you can actually assign orders to each user. Here's a bit more info: How to assign specific orders to specific users

You can also set a rule for this: Best of rules: Assign orders to a user

I hope this is helpful. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates we may have in the future.
