Generate a Shipping Purchase Report for Tax Reporting and Bookkeeping for Each Carrier

We need a report that generates the cost of shipping spent per carrier, this was a feature at stamps.com that I could print and get my monthly totals for taxes and bookkeeping, currently, we have to manually enter each purchase by carrier, sometimes it gets missed, then you have to go through each invoice in your email, thank you.

Hi everyone,

I am not sure if this is what you are all looking for but I wanted to let you know about our progress with our reporting feature.

You can now customize your reports by selecting the fields you want displayed. I do not yet have a link to send you with information on this, but keep a lookout in the near future for that in our Support Center.

If you go to Reports > Custom Reports > Create New Report, you can choose specifically want you want included and save it for future use.

Yes, I want something similar! The ability to generate TOTAL SPENT on shipping for a given month, as well as TOTAL CHARGED for shipping (and TOTAL SHIPPING MARGIN). Right now we have to export the full data into Excel and sum it up ourselves. But I'd like to see that in the snapshot. Although it's interesting to see how much each order cost to ship and what the shipping margin was for each order, the monthly total for those numbers would be much more useful. And this might be a stretch, but it would be super awesome to have a number that just gives TOTAL SHIPPING COST / TOTAL SALES, so we can see what percentage of our gross sales goes toward shipping as an expense.

Agreed! Reporting on number of shipments sent by different carriers for a date range would be helpful too. Seems like reporting can be really improved upon...the data is in there.....

Hi,

Has there been any movement on this? This is pretty important - daily postage used by each store. Currently, even if you select one store and run the shipping services report, it is compiling all stores. Please help.

Hello Victoria,


From the needs that you described, it seems like a couple options may exist for you!
A) The Shipping Services Report
Using the Shipping Service Report, you can generate a report to see how much has been spent on each carrier service. This report is exportable and you can use the summing features in Excel to generate the totals.

B) The Shipping Services Report
If you are wanting a sum for overall postage, rather than individual carrier services, you can use a custom report with the column Shipping Paid. You can learn more about creating custom reports here.
