Ability to designate shipment's value and have it transfer to UPS/FedEx (for insurance purposes)

It is currently NOT possible to specify a value of the package and have that value transfer over to FedEx and Shopify. The reason for this feature request is that both FedEx and UPS only provide insurance on the packages sent up to $100. If the contents worth more, the value of the package needs to be specified at the time of shipment or the package will NOT be insured. 

I realize you provide your own insurance, but in our experience dealing with carriers directly is a bit easier. So this option would be a huge help.

Great news everyone! 

 

ShippingEasy now offers FedEx insurance, known as Declared Value, on the Ready to Ship screen. Additionally, if you choose to bill to 3rd party and use FedEx' Declared Value, that insurance will be billed to the same 3rd party you chose to charge for the shipment. You can read more about this here: What is FedEx Declared Value?

Take this a step further and integrate back into SHopify to enable customers to "buy insurance" for their shipments at the time of cart check out.
