Thank you very much for your post! One way we prioritize our new features is through customer feedback, so we greatly appreciate your feedback. We have heard some other requests on UPS recently that took prioritization over this request such as UPS Surepost and UPS Mail Innovation that were more popular requests. There is another topic open for this request which I can see you posted a comment too. We are considering this feature for prioritization.
I have updated our prioritization list to include your support for this feature. We are currently considering a variety of features to implement before the holidays and customer support of features is a great way for us to learn which features would have the most impact for sellers.
If we hear this request from other customers- we will guide them to the feature request forums and ask them to share their support for this feature as well.

Lack of UPS Reference fields makes it impossible to use Shipping Easy to fulfill third party affiliate orders. While other platforms like Ship Station have full support for Reference Fields, I'm redirected to use UPS WorldShip outside of the Shipping Easy platform.
Please re-prioritize

Great news! I just wanted to share that there is now some customization to the reference field for UPS labels. There are also the additional options to populate the item skus or item description.
