Any idea why its sending a long string of numbers, like 0004000074516327839577840486424 over to Ebay and Amazon as a tracking number when we're without tracking via USPS Flats? Any way to make it stop doing that? Thanks.

Hi Nathan - Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
I've escalated a ticket with our developers to look into this. It sounds like we might have a bug that needs to be fixed. I'll post an update as soon as I receive an update from the team.
Hello Nathan - Apologies for the delay.
The numbers that are being updated back to your store are a "receipt number" that USPS provides to us when a service that does not include tracking is purchased.
We have been investigating the requirements of Amazon and eBay for this tracking information. So far, we've confirmed that neither platform requires tracking on shipments. However, it should be noted that both platforms highly recommend it. Both for customer satisfaction and for your protection in the case of disputes; without a tracking number you have no means to prove that you shipped the product to your customer.
Now, we need to review the API requirements of each platform. Even though tracking is not required of shippers, there is a possibility that Amazon and/or eBay requires a tracking number when updating the status of the order. I will provide another update when we've determined the requirements imposed by the stores' APIs.
Previous shipping software we've used, such as Stamps, did not send over any kind of number to Ebay/Amazon when we printed a label without tracking, so it doesn't appear that they require it when updating the status of an order.
Hi Nathan - Thanks for confirming that fact. I've passed the information onto our team.
Hi Nathan - I had a chance to chat with our Product Team about this today.
We have determined that this is an excellent opportunity to enhance our Amazon and eBay APIs. So, the project has been added to our list of future enhancement; however, the work has not yet been scheduled for a specific release date. I will continue to monitor the development team's progress and post as soon as I receive another update.
Thanks so much for your patience and assistance with helping us improve our integrations.
Are there any updates on this being fixed? Thanks.
Hi Nathan - I apologize for not having an update for you sooner. After checking in with our Product Team, I understand that we have not yet scheduled the work to fix this. It seems that we haven't received feedback from any other shippers that this presents problems, so while we plan to fix it, there are other projects that have taken higher priority.
When our Product Team plans out the developers' schedule each month, it can help to see which specific ShippingEasy accounts are impacted by each reported issue. Could you send me your company name or website so that I can update our prioritization list with this information?

Hi Nathan,
I wanted to let you know that we've made a change that I think you will like. For USPS domestic First Class Large Envelope/Flat shipments, ShippingEasy will no longer send the “tracking number” to Amazon, eBay, or Shopify.
To recap, this was changed because the “tracking number” provided by Endicia on domestic First Class Large Envelope/Flat shipments is not really a valid tracking number (as you mentioned) - it is just a purchase transaction number. USPS does not provide tracking on domestic First Class Large Envelope/Flat shipments.
Thanks for the request and for your patience while we looked into this change.
