I am new to shippingeasy so hopefully I am not missing something.
I tried to ship a package from SLC, UT 84107 to Drumheller, CAN T0J0Y5.
Package is 7x5x.5 and weighs 2oz. Post office gives a quote of $2.60 to ship first class along with Paypal. Shippingeasy quotes $6.39.
How can I get shippingeasy to give the same (or close) cost of Paypal or USPS?
Hi Erik,
We do offer the $2.60 rate for First Class shipments to Canada! You are just selecting the wrong packaging type in ShippingEasy. On the Ready to Ship page, to get this rate you need to select "First-Class Mail" with the packaging type "Large Envelope/Flat". If you select "Thick Envelope" or "Package" you would get the $6.39 rate.
Here are the requirements from USPS for the Large Envelope/Flat packaging type. It must be no more than 12 inches high x 15 inches long x ¾ inch thick, which would fit the description you gave me.
You can compare this on our rate tables for Large Envelope/Flat rate vs the Package rate. Canada is Country Group 1.
Let us know if you have further questions.
Warm regards,
