I think it would be extremely helpful and environmentally/financially friendly to create a way to view a digital picklist on a tablet. You would be able to select orders as you currently do, however, instead of printing a pick list, you would be able to view it digitally. As you walk around your warehouse you can select items that you don't currently have, and not only delete the person who ordered it from your current shipping log, but there should also be an option to add it to a "special order list." Currently, we have to do these steps separately and then manually add our special orders to a google doc.
Hi Jesse,
That's a great suggestion. It seems like shippers are using tablets in warehouses more and more so I can certainly see how this could be useful. One thing I could suggest in the meantime is simply downloading the PDF of the pick list and emailing it to yourself so that you can open it on the tablet. Something like this could work:
If you use ConnectEasy, go to Settings > Printers. Then make sure your Pick Lists are set up to be viewed by PDF instead of going directly to your printer. If you are not using ConnectEasy and are using "No Direct Printing", you're good to go already.
Create a Pick List as usual from the Orders page. This will send the job to your Ready to Print page, where you can then click the green "Print" button.
A PDF should open in a new tab, window, or application (depending on your computer settings). From here, you can save the PDF to your desktop (or wherever you prefer to save it).
After it is saved, you can go ahead and email it to yourself, or the like. This should allow you to open it on your tablet. Some tablets may require an additional application for PDF viewing, but most should allow it by default.
Again, great suggestion and I will go ahead and forward this to our Product Team for consideration. I hope this helps in the meantime!
