Decimal points for shipping weight in ounces

Just recently I noticed I couldn't use decimal points when setting product weights up in the catalog. This forces me to use a weight that is incorrect. Being off by half an ounce adds up to a significant difference for large orders and will mess up my shipping rules.

I've always used decimal points for weight in the past (4.5 ounces for example) and hope it works again in the future!

Hello Amy and thank you for posting to our community!

After checking your account, it looks like you may have discovered how to enter your weights with decimals in our new inventory feature.

However, for anyone who stumbles upon this later; to enter a decimal weight in the ounces (oz) field, simply enter the whole number, a period, and the decimal weight following.

The ounce, or oz field, will recognize and retain any decimal weights entered.

Thank you and happy shipping!

The CSV file upload instructions say whole numbers only for weight:

"Unit weight in ounces.
Ensure your file has all weights as ounces and uses whole numbers only"

It seems the inventory records can handle the decimals but the upload file can't?

Hello Galen, and welcome to our community.

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. While you can upload weights via a CSV file as decimals, it appears our documentation has not kept up with our progress.

I do apologize for any confusion, and have updated our documentation to reflect our support of decimals via CSV file as well as within the Inventory records.

Thanks again, and happy shipping!
