When I create a duplicate shipment -- say after canceling the original for using the wrong carrier, the duplicate shipment's tracking number does not get posted to Amazon. So, the customer/Amazon only sees the canceled tracking number, which can hurt seller performance and etc.
This is not an issue for eBay. eBay will show something of "multiple packages" with different tracking numbers.
I've had cases on Amazon where I created a duplicate shipment, the customer doesn't see their tracking number and then angrily message one of our customer service reps. It's yeah.
Not sure how many others have experienced this. I'd imagine it's fairly common.
Hello Amtone Tech and thank you for posting to our community.
Unfortunately Amazon currently restricts updating an order that has already been updated to Shipped in Amazon. This means that once an order has been updated to 'Shipped' in Amazon, any additional actions such as cancelling or duplicating the shipment in ShippingEasy, will not be accepted by Amazon as additional updates.
I encourage you, however, to repost your request in our Feature Request threads - these are monitored by our Product Team and are used to prioritize future development work. If there is enough interest for this change, we will be able to present that to Amazon in an effort to have the restrictions removed.
I don't see an existing thread, so it would be great if you could please start a new thread under this topic: Shipments: Orders, Labels & Shipping
Thank you and happy shipping!
