Marking partially shipped orders

We frequently ship partially filled orders, due to items being out of stock.  I don't want to mark these orders as shipped and remove them from our order list, because we still need to fulfill the outstanding portion of the order once the out of stock material is back in inventory again. I also don't want to leave the entire order in the order list, because I don't want to fulfill the entire order multiple times. How can I mark a portion of the order shipped, while leaving the unshipped portion on the order list?

If you're ever unprepared to ship an item in a multi-item order on the ORDERS page, you can always split the order and only ship the items that you're prepared to send. Splitting isn't only helpful, it's easy to do as well!

We will update the tracking numbers for both orders as well. If a Shopify order is split and one portion is marked as shipped (drop shipped), that portion will in fact, also update back to Shopify.
