Drop Shipper User

Is there a already suggested method of setting up access for drop-shippers? For instance, if I setup a drop shipper with a user account, can I restrict what they are able to see down to just specific orders and unable to access any other portions of ShippingEasy outside of the shipping process?

Also, since they are already most likely using their own order management software, if I give them API access instead, can their software simply link directly to ShippingEasy and view/send all the same relevant information without actually going into ShippingEasy (view orders, print packing labels/packing slips and send tracking back)?

Hi Joshua,

Great questions. At this time, we do not have per-user permissions but we are certainly looking into this. I suggest for this request you post what you are needing here: Set Permissions Per User.

What you could do, however, is set up rules so that your drop shippers are "assigned" certain orders to their user. More info in this article.

We do have an open API but I am unsure if another software that is not a store platform could be linked. Our open API is available to anyone who needs it but we do not provide support for this so your drop shippers would need to look into building an integration and seeing if it is possible: Open API. Hi Rachel,

So if I assigned certain orders to the drop shipper, would they still have access to all areas of shippingeasy as I already do?

Hi Joshua,

In most areas, yes, but not all. We're looking into a more robust user permissions/restrictions option but for now, these are the tools we have available for multiple users.
