Ability to SEARCH inventory by WAREHOUSE/BIN number

Hello,

please add  ability to SEARCH by BIN/Warehouse number when searching for inventory. Right now, you can search by title and SKU and possibly something else.....but many items we have on the shelves are CODED OR MARKED with vendor's item numbers. It would be a lot easier to be able to punch in re-orders using those bin/warehouse/item numbers that have already been assigned to products by manufacturers or vendors from whom they are been purchased. Thank you!!!

Hi Yan,

Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like you would like several updates to be made to on purchase order creation page. If I understand correctly in addition to our existing Supplier SKU field you would like the warehouse/bin location to be added to the purchase order items table. Then, once this field has been added you would also like the ability to search and select your products (for re-ordering) based on this value. Is that correct? And do you also need our product catalog to support searching or filtering your products by their warehouse/bin location? Or was it just on the purchase order creation page?

I agree, being able to sort by any column on this page is helpful.

Most vendors/manufacturers need the following to be included in the order:

1. Item/stock number (which is THEIR number or number they go by). We can have that number in WAREHOUSE/BIN column

2. Item/product name (column already exists)

3. Quantity (existing column)

4. SKU/ASIN/UPC

These are the 3 most important columns. If you can add an ability to add/remove/sort columns on PURCHASE ORDER page - it would be very helpful. Cost column may or may not be necessary but it's nice to have it. One can always fill in all zeros in there to avoid confusion.

Other columns may be- color, size, other variants, weight/dimensions (if anyone needs to specify anything) or any other columns that we as sellers need in order to successfully create and submit orders. Thank you again for your consideration!!!

Tessa,

Thank you so much for such a quick response and your attention to this matter! I appreciate it!

Yes, you are exactly right. What you mentioned is EXACTLY what I need:

"you would like the warehouse/bin location to be added to the purchase order items table. Then, once this field has been added you would also like the ability to search and select your products (for re-ordering) based on this value."

and you are correct about the 2nd part of my request:

I want to be able to search BOTH inventory pages and if possible order entry pages by warehouse/bin number please.

This would be so much easier than having to type in item's name/title. We have thousands of boxes on the warehouse shelves....most of these boxes have manufacturer's/vendor's item number imprinted on them. All I'll need to do is just punch in the item number into ShippingEasy inventory/order entry "search" field and that item will come up. Then I can edit/update it or add it to order to be sent to vendor. Definitely need item #/bin/warehouse column to be in the "purchase orders" page as vendors get very confused once they receive the order with just names or SKUs. Most vendors do not go by SKUs or UPCs....instead they go by their stock numbers. Amazon goes by ASIN but I don't want to overcomplicate. So let's see if we can get it done one step at a time. Again, thank you so much for your prompt response and willingness to address my issue!!!

Yan,

Are you aware that there is a Supplier SKU number already in the system and it prints on the PO?  I feel this should be adequate for what you are requesting here.  This is separate from the SKU that Shipping Easy uses.

respectfully,

Randy

Randy,

What you are suggesting will not work the way ShippingEasy presently has it set up. First of all, when you are populating WAREHOUSE/BIN numbers and SKUs on the regular inventory pages, there is no way to add SUPPLIER SKU. You guys have no such line/column at this moment. Manufacturer's/vendor's item numbers can only be put in Warehouse/Bin line...which is fine.....but I want them to be visible to suppliers when creating orders on the purchase orders page. Yes, supplier SKU comes up on purchase orders page, but it matches the regular item's SKU and is useless to most manufacturers/vendors I order from. It is a hassle to go back to each individual item to see what it's warehouse/bin/stock number is and then populate it into Supplier SKU field. Maybe that can be done with 5-10 items...but what if you have a 40-80 or more items you are ordering? I don't want to spend half a day manually inputting these warehouse/bin/stock numbers into Supplier SKU field. The idea is:

****we need to have a separate column for warehouse/bin/stock numbers on the purchase order page. Once creating the order and inputting products, they should be searchable by title, warehouse/bin/stock number or SKU. Once any product has been used to create a new order, it's warehouse/bin/stock should be immediately visible to whoever that email will be sent to. Providing of course that warehouse/bin/stock was ogiginally input onto the regular inventory page when creating the product (along with picture, SKU, size, quantity, etc).

Hope I explained myself clearly enough so you guys can understand what I mean and help out. Believe me, this will make the whole ordering process a lot more useful and efficient. Right now I can't even use Purchase Orders as all my vendors want their warehouse/bin/stock numbers be visible to them once the order is submitted to them.

Thanks a lot!!!

Hi Yan,

Thank you for this additional information. I have added a request to our inventory queue to add the warehouse/bin location to our purchase order items table and search.

In the meantime, I will direct any customers with similar requests to comment or follow on this post as well. Feedback helps us to learn how many customers are interested in each feature and prioritize what we should work on next. I will update this thread again once this work has been prioritized.
