Improvements to "Ready to Ship" interface

0

When a customer is in the "Ready to Ship" section and clicks on an order to ship, there is nowhere on the screen that shows the Order #, or the Store where that order came from. It will be extremely useful if your team designed a colored box that pulled the Order # and the Store name where that order comes from. When we pack the orders, we don't write the customer's name. We write the order # so we have no clue about Mary Smith on the list. If this info was on that page, it will be extremely helpful to know (and confirm) that we are shipping the right order.

Also, on the left side there is a list of Orders. This list is not helpful as it shows the product (?) ordered. How do we know (or do we care) what's inside the envelope? At the point when the order is ready to ship, everything is packed. All we care is the name and address of the shipment.

I understand that if you click on that list it gives you a pop up, but that again doesn't note the Store.

The Order # needs to be Bold, Colored and inside a colored box to make it easy to read.

Another note is that this left side list only lists a few orders and you have to click on "Next" to see the rest. Not helpful.

Hi Crisa,

Thanks for taking the time to write up your suggestions.

I would like to understand a bit better your exact process for packing and addressing your shipments.  For example, you wrote that "When we pack the orders, we don't write the customer's name" and that instead you write the Order number.

Where exactly are you writing that Order number? On the package itself?

Also, are you using any sort of pick list or packing slip?

Thanks,

Hi Gregg,

Not sure about Crisa, but that is exactly what we do... write the order number on the envelope.  Then the packer passes the envelope to the shipper.

The list on the left is okay, but being able to see the whole order number instead of the first 5 chars would be an improvement.  Including the full order number on the right side in bigger type would be a larger improvement.

I would also like to see the Order number shown in the current view of the active record that is ready to ship. We scan a barcode of the order the shipper is working on - if it is not uploaded into the system  then a red box appears saying order not found (if the shipper watches the screen before it disappears) but the active record never changes - so the shipper could actually process the wrong shipment. If the Order number was shown in the working record (above the ship-from maybe) it would let them know they are working on the correct shipping data. I know the current active order is highlighted on the left - but the order number needs to be in the active area somewhere.

Hi Steve,

Great suggestion! We'll certainly consider this as we move to further improve functionality and limit any possible shipping errors when using ShippingEasy. Thanks for the feedback!
