Force re-sync on store level basis

0

Add a feature to force a re-sync on a store-level basis. I've noticed that when I click the "Sync with Store" button, my request seems to be ignored if the store has synced within the past 5 or 10 minutes. I have to wait until that timeout occurs and then the stores will sync again.

Hi Ray,

Although we do offer a Sync with Store button, it can take up to 15 minutes or so for the most recent orders to come through. This is, of course, still quicker than waiting for the automatic sync. However, I understand that you want a more immediate and more forceful button so I will forward that request to our Product Team.

Thanks!

It would be nice to have the Ready to Ship queue sync immediately as we often have multiple users shipping at one time and we work at different ends of the shipping list, instead of spending time dividing orders and assigning them.

Hi Michael,

It sounds like what you are wanting is a tad different than what Ray requested. Can you please explain further? If it is a different request, we may ask that you post to a new thread so that our CEO and Product Team can see each specific request separately. This will also help us to filter when we are updating our customers via the thread they requested the specific feature on.
It sounds like rules may help you but I would need to know more about what you are requesting.

Rachael,

Thanks for your response. I could take time to assign shipments to different employees or if we send all the shipments to the "Ready-to-Ship" area but when one employee ships an item it doesn't clear right away so there is the possibility that someone could ship the same item twice. Is there a way to fix this? Let me know if you want me to post a different thread for this problem.

Hi Michael,

A separate request would be great as this does sound like a feature request rather than a bug. We'd love to get your thread out there so that if other customers are looking for the same feature, we can be sure we are seeing all interest in one thread. :) I understand your concern here. However, digging into this more, I believe we have a system in place in the back end where this could not happen. For instance, if user #1 ships something, the moment it gets sent to the next page or is purchased, it should no longer be available on any page for purchase and should yield an error message should user #2 try to purchase it again without using the "duplicate" method. If you are noticing this is not the case, please let us know!

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

We've recently released a couple changes that may help with your syncing processes. While we did not speed up the syncing process, we did add the ability to monitor the progress.

The “Sync with Store” link has been renamed “Sync” and clicking it will bring up the new window. Clicking the top entry in the window will sync all stores, like it previously worked. In addition, the window will display the last time that each store synced - if it was synced same day, then only the time is shown. If it wasn't synced the same day, then the date and time is shown.

Additionally, there is now a sync icon next to each store that allows you to request just a sync of a specific store, too. You can see the status of the syncing progress in the popup, as well - when a store is currently being synced, the sync icon for that store “spins,” allowing you to know that its working on processing a sync.

I hope this helps your process a bit! Thanks!
