If charging a third party FedEx account you can't add insurance...the whole point about charging a third party is so they get the bill not being billed to us and them paying us...but if we need to put insurance on a FedEx package there is no way to bill the third party...just use the shipsurance...which we get billed for.
Is there a solution like with UPS where we can use their UPS account?
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out about this. At this time, ShippingEasy does not support the option to add insurance that is billable to a third party to your shipments. However, ShippingEasy *does*, as you mentioned, allow our users to purchase Shipsurance on any packages. With that, it sounds like you'd want one of the following features:
I realize not having this option isn't ideal, but, when thinking outside of the box, I thought of one option that could potentially work: You can offer an insurance option in your store as a product (or a requested service add-on charge) so that you are paid for the insurance ahead of time. That way, the product will come into ShippingEasy showing insurance was purchased. You can have it as a weight of 0 so it doesn't affect your packaging weights, too (should you choose to add it in as a product). You can then purchase insurance through Shipsurance via ShippingEasy and know it's paid for already.

ShippingEasy now offers FedEx insurance, known as Declared Value, on the Ready to Ship screen. And even better, if you choose to bill to 3rd party and use FedEx' Declared Value, that insurance will be billed to the same 3rd party you chose to charge for the shipment.
