Add Barcode for order # to Pick List

0

Currently we are going to print ranges of orders by item by location and simultaneously by order for the same range, hand those two lists to a picker so they can make one shot linear trip through the warehouse to grab a bunch of items, for a few orders and then give the items with the corresponding Pick by orders sheet to the packer to pack.

To my knowledge the shipper at that point has to manually type in the order number off the "by order pick list" to pull up the order to ship.

It would eliminate manual key errors and speed up work flow if they could just scan a bar code that exists on the "by order pick list" to pull the order up.  At this point there is no packing slip yet.  I understand you can print barcodes on packing slips, but that defeats the purpose of the efficiency you get by doing a range of orders picked by item by location so pickers are not backtracking picking one order at a time.

Hi Casey,

This is a great suggestion and makes sense for your process. You are correct in that the Packing Slip is usually the best option for those who like to barcode scan, but I would be happy to have my team look into this for future consideration. Please keep an eye on this thread in case we have any updates. Thanks!
