When creating a label for shipping via USPS Priority Mail, the Insurance Options section includes the note "The USPS service you have selected automatically includes $100 of declared value."
According to the USPS DMM, the $100 amount only applies when paying Commercial Plus rates. http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/503.htm#ep1063624
My understanding is that Priority Mail labels purchased using Commercial Base prices only have $50 free insurance.
Since your Free Starter Plan uses Commercial Base prices, the 'includes $100' amount is incorrect and misleading for Starter Plan users.
Is that accurate? If so, please fix the note to show the appropriate automatically-included insurance amount for the user's current plan level.
Hello David,
Thank you so much for reaching out to us with this question.
You're absolutely right! USPS does only offer $50 of insurance on the Commercial Base Rate Priority Mail services. However, ShippingEasy has an agreement with USPS that allows us to offer $100 of coverage on these same packages. So what you're seeing on the Ready to Ship page of your account is correct!
This is just one more of the great benefits we're able to offer ShippingEasy customers!
Have a great day,
Shea
