Bundled Products - Automatically Sum Weight

All of my products in my catalog have an individual weight. However, when a "bundle" imports into the ShippingEasy platform, the weight is not automatically summed for the shipment. I submitted this to the support team this morning and they stated I had to add each bundled weight in manually.

This seems very repetitive as shipping easy knows the individual weights for the items that are in the bundle, I think it would make the most sense to have shipping easy total the weights up so users aren't having to go through each kit 1 by 1, adding up the items, then updating the bundle weight manually.

Example:

Bundle A = 2 of item 1C

1C = 3oz

When Bundle A gets imported into shipping easy, shipping easy should recognize that Bundle A = 2 of item 1C therefore updating the total weight to 6oz. (3oz + 3oz = 6oz)

Hi Nick,

Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like you set up your product bundles via a CSV upload in ShippingEasy. Is that correct? So, when you create product bundles in ShippingEasy you would like the weight of the main bundle SKU to default to the sum of the items in the bundle. I have added a request to our inventory queue to this affect. 

In the meantime, I will direct any customers with similar requests to comment or follow on this post as well. Feedback helps us to learn how many customers are interested in each feature and prioritize what we should work on next. I will update this thread again once this work has been prioritized.

This is correct.

So, when you create product bundles in ShippingEasy you would like the weight of the main bundle SKU to default to the sum of the items in the bundle. I have added a request to our inventory queue to this affect. 

This is correct. Right now my bundles are a somewhat simple. 2x a part number, 4x a part number, etc. But I plan to include bundles that will include multiple SKU's and quantities and this is when this will really benefit.

I have uploaded all the bundled weights via CSV for the time being, but would really like to see this get coded in.

UPDATE: ShippingEasy retired the Inventory Management subscription in June of 2020. Our Product Catalog stores a comprehensive list of the products you sell and allows you to add your product information to leverage product and SKU details to ship more efficiently. Learn more about our Product Catalog.

Existing Inventory Management subscribers will still have the ability to use the features specific to Inventory Management, however, we are no longer supporting new subscribers.
