Is this service for registered companies only?

Hello,

I could not find the answer to this question anywhere. I read through the terms and conditions of "shippingeasy" and did not find a single statement about requiring a registered company name to use this service. 

Assuming that a registered company name is not required, would I need to use my full name as the "company name" for this service so that I do not inflict on registered companies, proprietorships, corporations, etc? Am I somehow allowed to unofficially use another name for the company name without legal conflict? I am almost sure I am not but figured I would check.

I am an individual printing for 3dhubs and am therefore looking to use this service as an individual. Thank you for your help.

You are not required to use a registered company name when signing up or using ShippingEasy. 

Likewise, you are certainly welcome to use whatever company name, abbreviation or other moniker you like. Account names are not checked for any type of legal or registered status, they are simply used as a way to identify your account.

Hi Jacen,

Can I just ask how certain you are about this? Are you part of the "ShippingEasy" staff? I mean no disrespect. It's just that I have read that you can get into legal troubles with any company that is trademarked if you use their name on anything you sell or ship. It would be an easy mistake to make to use either an exact or very similar trademarked company name.

If you are aware of this and I am not in the wrong with this statement, can you explain your response? Thank you so much for the help.

The intent of the registration of a company name within ShippingEasy is so that you can personalize your shipping information to match with what you are using with your stores.

Registering a company name within ShippingEasy does not make it legally binding or registered to you in any way. Should you have any question about potential legal ramifications resulting from the company name you choose to use, we would encourage you to speak directly with your legal counsel.
