I didn't realize that by marking an item as DROP SHIPPED that it would count against my label count... first of all, that is ridiculous!!
But... how can I edit the status to remove the drop-ship status, so I can ship from the software...

Orders marked as shipped (drop shipped) do count towards your monthly label use. Here is the corresponding information from our Knowledge Base article:
IMPORTANT: orders marked as shipped will count towards your monthly label use.
There are several key benefits to marking your orders as shipped, versus deleting them:
I know that on the Starter plan especially every label counts so if you would like to see this changed, please feel free to post your request in our Feature Request Forums so others can vote on the request and so you can be notified if/when the feature has been released.
You can still ship from the app, however, you cannot un-do the drop ship status that shows in Shipment History. If you'd like to create a label for a drop shipped order, please locate the order in Shipment History then click the green button next to the order and select "Create Shipment." That will send the order to the Ready to Ship page where you can make your carrier/ package selections.
I see under Settings then Subscription & Billing that that your subscription will reset on February 22, 2018 at 4:49pm EST. If the benefits listed above do not apply in your case, please feel free to clear/delete future orders that you do not wish to ship within the app using this process: How to: Delete an order
