Email alerts when a return label is scanned in at USPS

Hi there,

Our company is rental-based, so we're always generating return labels to ship with the item. It would definitely shorten our time between shipments and increase overall output if we were able to receive an email that a package is on its way.

Currently we have to have the customer tell us that they've shipped something back, we wait a day for USPS to update the tracking, check the tracking just to make sure, and then ship out. Customers forget to let us know, too, so it's by no means an effective system.

In regards to your request, you mentioned you needed to check the return tracking to confirm your customer has shipped something back before you can then ship out. Can you tell us more about your process and what is needed to ship out to the customer when they are returning something to you?

Any further details you can provide will go a long way towards making a case for this feature.

Hi there, thanks for the response. 

We have a bit of a work around.... signed up for USPS informed delivery service which tracks packages when they are scanned. 

When someone returns an item to us, we want the delay between sending that item and getting a new one to be as short as possible. We know what the next shipment will be, so once we are alerted to the customers old item being returned, we can start packaging up and even send the next item on their list. 

All we really need is to know the package is on its way back and has been scanned in by a postal carrier.
