Update an order via API

0

Hey Shipping Easy,

I'm using your API to create orders and pull out status information when it ships which all seems to be working pretty well.  However, it doesn't appear there is a way to update an address of an unshipped package via the API.  Could you please add that ability as it seems to be basic and necessary functionality?

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric!

Thank you very much for your feedback! Customer feedback is incredibly helpful to us as a means of learning what could help our merchants, so we know which new features to build. This feature will be under consideration for prioritization.

If you know of any other sellers that would benefit from this feature, please ask them to comment or post here as well. If we hear this request from other customers, we will ask them to comment or follow here as well.

Wow. Under consideration? ... I'm pretty bewildered here.

We've come across multiple cases where a user updates their shipping address for their order, and we have no way to update the order in shipping easy. This is a common occurrence for subscription orders...someones uses a shipping address for their first order, but then eventually moves.

FYI - This has been such a major headache that we are going to be forced to find other shipping software since we have no way to update orders via the API.

Greg, thanks so much for chiming in!  I thought I was crazy to think I was the only one out there that needed to update an address via API.  Seems like such a no-brainer feature but I don't know anyone else in the community to ask them to vote for it.

We too are having to look at other shipping solutions because update isn't available in the API.  Our customers are always prone to call in at the last minute to ask to have their package sent somewhere else.  We might only get one or two a day but it is huge waste of time for someone to have to manually update in ShippingEasy plus very error prone.  Hopefully ShippingEasy will fix this issue soon so I we don't have to move.

I clearly messed up on my due diligence but I am shocked this isn't a feature. I assumed when signing up that we would be able to do most actions via the API, like updating an order. Considering that this post is 5 years old is it fair to assume this is not going to be available in the near future?
