Paid $10 for shipping for a $3.82 shipping charge, but got back $2.77. Why? Where is the remaining $3.91?

I purchased $10, I see the charge and the email telling me I got charged $10. I made one purchase of $3.82. My email after the purchase says:

Your current available account balance is $6.09.  

 

The $6.09 should be $6.18, but my account balance shows it's actually $2.27.  What the heck happened to the remaining $3.91?  I'm confused. I have not processed any other labels.  I need to get this resolved, b/c technically the $$ is missing in my account, but shipping easy wants me to pay more for customer service.  Seems like a big SCAM.  How does one solve this?

Thank you for taking the time to post in our community forum. I am sorry to hear that there is an issue with the transactional balance on the postage account. We have reached out to Stamps customer support, and they believe that this balance reflects an adjustment done on a previous shipment. They do require you to reach out to them directly for more detailed information. We will follow up with you via email so you have the best contact number.
