I have two Volusion stores and came to rely on Shipping Easy's inventory synchronization functionality. This functionality worked beautifully from when it was introduced in August 2016 until sometime in late 2018, when for some reason all of my products were mysteriously delinked.
After much trouble shooting, I learned that now Shipping Easy no longer supports linking of "hidden products". This is a very big problem for me and any Volusion merchant with configured products with multiple variant products, each with their own SKU. These variants must remain hidden in the store. You do not want users searching for a primary parent product - for example a bicycle spoke that comes in 45 different lengths - and finding 45+ variant products. Instead, you want them to find the parent product and then order an available variant of that product. In fact, Volusion automatically hides "child products" (variants) for this very reason.
Shipping Easy used to be able to link and sync these hidden products, whose inventory is more important than the parents (which have no inventory).
And it still can. If I temporarily unhide the variant products on my stores and reimport/link them with Shipping Easy, they link up perfectly. I then re-hide the products on my stores. The links hold for about a day. And then Shipping Easy - maybe at midnight, I don't know - automatically searches the products on my site and delinks the hidden ones. Ugh!
Anyway, the main reason I used Shipping Easy's inventory - to keep my products on two Volusion stores linked - has been lost. I relied on this feature, and now it's gone. It is having a deleterious impact on my business. Inventory levels are no longer synced, orders can be placed for out of stock products on one or the other of my two stores, and we're constantly having to do manual updates.
Shipping Easy - I love your product. I came to rely on your inventory management system. I am asking - pleading with you - to restore the functionality that it once had. Please allow hidden products on Volusion - which are crucial for any store - to be linked and stay linked. Or, at the very least, don't de-link them after I get them linked! :)
Thanks for listening.
UPDATE: ShippingEasy retired the Inventory Management subscription in June of 2020. Our Product Catalog stores a comprehensive list of the products you sell and allows you to add your product information to leverage product and SKU details to ship more efficiently. Learn more about our Product Catalog.
Existing Inventory Management subscribers will still have the ability to use the features specific to Inventory Management, however, we are no longer supporting new subscribers.
