Combine Orders | How To

One buyer, many orders? Problem solved. ShippingEasy makes it easy to combine multiple orders from a single customer when they are going to the same address. This allows you to consolidate orders into a single shipment, saving shipping and packing costs.

Two Methods to Combine Orders

This guide provides step-by-step instructions to:

  • Select specific orders to combine into a single order.

  • Combine all orders with duplicate recipients using a single keystroke.

Limitations When Combining Orders

Consider the following when combining orders:

  • Orders cannot be combined across different stores.

  • The shipment confirmation email will be sent to the email address on the surviving order. Likewise, the email will contain the order data for the surviving order.

  • When orders are combined, the line items' costs are not totaled. Rather, the Subtotal from the surviving order will display.

  • If you use Packing Slips in ShippingEasy, we do not recommend their use as invoices. If you combine orders regularly, it may be advisable to edit your templates to exclude order Subtotals and/or Totals. Learn more about customizing packing slips.

Combine Specific Orders Into a Single Order

  1. Select the orders you wish to combine by checking the box to the right of the orders on the ORDERS page. Then, click the More menu, and select Combine Orders then Selected.

Select the orders then click More > Combine > Selected.
  2. Select the correct recipient address from the list of addresses on the COMBINE ORDERS modal. Then, click the Confirm button.

The order associated with the selected address will become the surviving order and will retain the order number, the order date, recipient address, and item cost subtotal. Shipment confirmations will be sent to the email address of the surviving order.

Select the correct recipient address then click Confirm.
  3. Click the newly combined order number to view the combined line items in the order details rollover.

Click the newly combined order number to view the combined line items in the order details rollover.

    Combined Orders Subtotal

When orders are combined, the line items' costs are not totaled. Rather, the Subtotal from the master order will display.

Combine All Orders with the Same Recipient

Combine all orders with duplicate recipients to streamline the shipping process. ShippingEasy can identify all orders that have duplicate recipients and combine them accordingly. Duplicate recipients have the same last name, company name, and shipping address.

When Combining Orders:

  • Filters applied on the ORDERS page will be honored.

  • Orders will not be combined across stores.

  1. Apply or remove filters as needed on the ORDERS page. The Combine Orders tool will only apply to filtered orders.

  2. Expand the More menu, select the Combine Orders option, and click All with Same Recipient.

Expand the More menu, select the Combine Orders option, and click All with Same Recipient.
  3. Click the Confirm button to confirm that you wish to combine the orders.

The oldest order for each combination will be the master surviving order. The master (surviving order) will retain the order number, order date, recipient address, and item cost subtotal. The shipment confirmation email will be sent to the surviving order's address.

Click the Confirm button to confirm that you do, in fact, wish to combine the orders.

    Combine Progress

After clicking Confirm, a progress bar will appear to track the combinations. You can close out of this window or wait for the combinations to complete. Either way, the combined orders will temporarily disappear from the ORDERS page and reappear when the combining is completed.
