Ability to edit duplicate order details

Instead of saving customers to the address book and creating new manual orders, there should be the ability to edit duplicate order details so the customer does not think they are receiving the old order.

What information are you wanting to edit? Currently, you actually can change duplicated order details as far as the address and shipping methods go. However, you cannot edit the order details such as products orders, etc.

To edit the shipping details on a duplicate order:

You will want to go to Shipping History > Find the order > Click the barcode symbol (which is the duplicate label symbol) and create a duplicate. You will then be brought to a new page where you can edit the order by clicking the pencil symbol. From there, you will be brought to the Ready to Ship Page where you can edit as necessary.

It would be very helpful to have the ability to edit the order details (such as products) on Duplicate Orders.

No all orders that end up in Shipment History have been shipped, some may have been cancelled for various reasons or even if they have been shipped, maybe they got lost and require re-shipment and/or editing. This would save time as oppose to creating a whole new order via QuickOrder route.

The way it works now, when regular order is on Ready to Ship page, clicking on the X will move the order back to Orders page and allow further editing. However, doing the same to a Duplicate Order will delete this order completely. If the Duplicate Order was moved to Orders page similar to other orders it would allow the ability to edit these order and save time in the process.

Just to add to the comment above, I think it would also be very helpful to edit content of the order  (i.e. product details) that are created via "Create Return Shipment" function.

Most of the time, customers choose to return only part of the order. Let's assume that our labels are set to "Half Sheet w/ Packing Slip" so when the customer receives their return label, they will see the whole order listed. This in turn may cause confusion on customers part and may raise concerns resulting in additional communications with us. If we have an ability to edit this information, then the customers will see exactly what they are returning right on their paperwork.

P.S. It would also be helpful to specify the format of the label the customer receives for their return request, which may be different from the default label setting the company uses internally.

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback on this feature request. You've helped add many supporting details to the request for this feature and I have updated our documentation to consider this.

I've also added in a separate entry for your request on being able to set a separate label format for return labels. I can see how this would be very helpful and we have now documented this request.

The ability to change the order number would also be great.  When we get a re-order on a phone order we can create a duplicate shipment from the shipping history, but it uses the old info including the order number.

The only way to give it a new order numbers is to create the manual order from scratch.. a time consuming ordeal.
