Dropshipping Automation

0

I'd like to add 2 features to  automate the dropshipping process.  I have each dropshipper set up as a user, and want them to only see the orders that they need to process.  So I would like to see the following:

1) Create a permission so that the account owner can restrict a user to ONLY see that users assigned orders.

2) Create a rule to allow an order to be split based on product, and then assigned to a certain user.

The result would be to create rules for each product in your catalog that assigns the product to a user.  As an order comes in it would be split and assigned to each user/dropshipper, so that they could fulfill the items they supply for you.

Hi Anthony,

Both of your requests are excellent. We actually already have a request for your first bit of feedback. Do you mind posting your interest in that here: Allow per-user permissions

Your second request is really a great idea, too! I can see how you may need this if each drop shipper ships completely different products, but the customer orders products from both users. If you don't mind, can you verify that this is the scenario you're discussing?

I've gone ahead and added both requests to our list of features for consideration. Please keep an eye on this thread, too, in case we have any updates. Thanks!

Hi Rachael,

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about.  In our ecom store we have products that are drop-shipped from many different sources.  When a customer orders, they neither know or care where they are being drop-shipped from, they simply think they are all getting shipped from our store.

On the back-end, we then have to go in and review each order, split the orders manually, and then assign it to a user (each drop-ship partner has their own user account).  This obviously eats up a ton of man-hours and should be a simple automation that could be implemented.  Very much like the categorization rules that you guys currently have.  Only instead of tying them to a product to a category, you tie it to a specific user.

This would literally make the whole process automated, and create a very hands-off and efficient work-flow.

I think Shipstation has this type of process in place using tags, but, because my main drop-ship partner is already using Shipping Easy, I made the switch.  Just nervous about scaling with this way of doing things.

As an aside, another extremely sweet feature would be to allow a report to be generated that shows all of the products the user shipped that day, or prepared for shipment, so that the dropshipper could generate an invoice based on daily shipments allowing for easy accounting traceability. :)

Just a note... I just had a new dropshipper who shouldn't have had the permission to spend my money, buy $400 dollars worth of postage when he only needed $40.  I have postage set up to auto-fill, and some random person was able to bleed out $400 worth of profits without even asking me.  THIS IS NOT AN OPTIONAL ITEM AND NEEDS TO BE PRIORITY ONE FOR NEW FEATURES (user permissions!)

Hello Anthony - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're presently considering ways to improve user permissions. One option on the table is to restrict the option to buy postage.

We've posted our working plans in this thread:

We'll continue to provide updates on these user permissions in that link above.
