Send email notifications early in the day for all shipments that were prepared on previous days.

I prepare shipments at all hours, and any order that is received after the mail pickup is prepared and postdated, often in the evening, for the next day.  The emails for these shipments are being sent 24 hours later...the next evening...which is after the packages have already shipped.  By this time, I have often already notified the customer that their package is on the way, so it's embarrassing for me to have them then receive another email that says that the package has been "prepared for shipment".

Why can't all these emails go out first thing in the morning?  That would totally avoid this problem (which I never had with Stamps.com).

Hi Debbie,

This is a great question. What you need to know here is that your emails are sent after a few things occur. Please read the following for a better explanation:

For day of labels (not post dated) the emails go out immediately upon being printed. For post-dated labels, there are a few possible outcomes:

  1. If it is post-dated a certain amount of days ahead, but printed the day it is created, the email will go out at the same time it was created, but on the date it is set to ship.

  2. If you actually print the label the day it is set to ship instead, it should go out immediately.

I hope this is helpful and clarifies some of the process. If you believe your labels are not abiding by these rules, feel free to reach out to support so that we may address it.

That said, I have forwarded your request to choose the date/time an email goes out to our developers.
