Enable customers based on value to buy insurance in Shopify. Create a Shopify App or other solution to enable us to have our customer buy insurance for their shipment from their shopping cart. This takes the burden off of the stores and puts it on the customer who is making the purchase.

This is an excellent idea. As we do not personally provide the insurance, I am not sure it would be possible for us to create an app. However, I will mention this to our developers. I also suggest reaching out to Shipsurance if you are interested in them creating an application just for insurance purposes.
