I ship a perishable product, and want to ship so that we get the shortest transit time. I use USPS Priority Mail services, and the dates range from 1-3 days, depending upon the zip code. http://postcalc.usps.com/
Knowing this info helps me to know whether to ship a package on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
EXAMPLES:
1) if I'm shipping to a zip code that has 3 day delivery, I would not want to ship a package on Thursday, because it would not actually arrive until Monday. Instead, I'd wait until Friday to mail it.
2) if I'm shipping to a zip code that has 2 day delivery, I would not want to ship on Friday, I'd wait until Saturday. That way, I can keep my product chilled until Saturday, rather than it sitting around the post office from somewhere an extra day.
3) if I'm shipping to a zip code that has 1 day delivery, I would feel safe shipping on Thursday, knowing it will arrive on Friday.
This would be a HUGE time saver for me. Now, I have to waste time going to USPS.com to verify times.
Thanks!
ShippingEasy Update:
We have added support for "Estimated Delivery Date" for USPS domestic shipments. This feature is supported for USPS domestic Priority Mail, First Class Mail, Media Mail, and Parcel Select. However, neither USPS international, nor USPS Priority Mail Express shipments are currently supported for estimated delivery date.
The Estimated Delivery Date can be viewed on the READY TO SHIP or ORDERS page.
For more information, take a look at our Estimated Delivery Date guide.
