This is a no-brainer. Currently there is no way to sort through customer addresses if you need to look one up to edit or update. With over 1000 customer addresses stored, it's impossible to do this with the current layout. At least make it possible to click on a heading (i.e. name or company) to organize/sort the list. How do businesses with hundreds of recipient addresses manage their lists?

In lieu of a searching, you may try using your browser's "Find" function. This allows you to search for information on a page very quickly. Access this with the following key commands:
- Windows: CTRL+F
- Mac: COMMAND+F
While the Customer Addresses is intended to help populate address and contact information for Manual Orders, our team has been discussing other ways that the Customer Addresses catalog might be used. Certainly, adding extra tools like searching, sorting, and filtering will increase these options - as well as make managing the catalog easier.
Although I understand that you're primarily looking for an easier way to find contacts to update them, did you have some other Customer Addresses catalog use cases in mind?
