Need Warehouse/Bin numbers to be visible to suppliers and need to enable SEARCH by BIN NUMBER on inventory home page

Please refer to my previous post 70494. I don't think it has been resolved. It is very important to be able to have a warehouse/bin/stock number column in "create orders" page in inventory. Most vendors and suppliers go by their own stock/item numbers and want those numbers included in purchase orders. Currently, I cannot place purchase orders to vendors using SE because there is no ability to include those vendor's item/stock numbers. The column called "warehouse/bin/stock" number in "purchase orders" is a must in my opinion.

Also, need ability to SEARCH regular inventory by warehouse/bin number as well. Right now it is not possible. Please see if that could be added.

Thank you!!!

UPDATE: ShippingEasy retired the Inventory Management subscription in June of 2020. Our Product Catalog stores a comprehensive list of the products you sell and allows you to add your product information to leverage product and SKU details to ship more efficiently. Learn more about our Product Catalog.

At this time, we will no longer be building out Inventory Management features.

Existing Inventory Management subscribers will still have the ability to use the features specific to Inventory Management, however, we are no longer supporting new subscribers.

Hi Yan,

Thank you for your post. I have reviewed your previous request and understand that you need the ability to search by warehouse/bin in addition to displaying this value on your purchase orders created in ShippingEasy.

Though we do not yet support this in our application I may have a temporary workaround for you. For each product saved in the ShippingEasy product catalog you can assign a supplier. When you do this you are also able to save the unit cost and supplier SKU for the designated product and supplier association. I've reviewed your account and it appears that you are not currently using the supplier SKU field. So, you could use this field to enter the warehouse/bin for each product and supplier. I understand that this field will still be label as the supplier SKU on your purchase orders but I wonder if this would help your suppliers to better identify your products that need re-ordering.

I should also mention that as we are currently in the busy holiday shipping season our development team has gone into a code freeze. To help ensure stability within our application we will not be making any changes to the software until 2017. In the meantime, we will direct any customers with similar requests to comment or follow on this post as well. Feedback helps us to learn how many customers are interested in each feature and prioritize what we should work on next in the New Year.

Hello,

It's been 3 years since I posted my request and it hasn't been resolved yet besides temporary workaround which is very time consuming and inconvenient. All Suppliers/Vendors go by THEIR item/catalog number which can be easily input in WAREHOUSE BIN column on each individual item's page within inventory. What should be done and I don't understand why it's difficult, is to ADD a WAREHOUSE BIN Column to PURCHASE ORDERS page so when we placing orders, items get stacked (in the order being created) by inputting them in by either SKU or WAREHOUSE BIN number or Product Title. Any of these 3 should work to add items into Purchase Order. Once items are in the Purchase Order, The columns visible to SUPPLIERS should include:

SKU

Supplier SKU a/k/a Warehouse Bin (which can be populated with that supplier's unique item #)

Product Title

Quantity

Cost

Please kindly get this done. It is so inconvenient to first having to enter individual items into Purchase order, and then go back to ;look up their unique Supplier SKU/Warehouse BIN numbers and manually input those items numbers into Supplier SKU field. When entering items into Purchase order, the SUPPLIER SKU/WAREHOUSE BIN number should automatically populate. Just like you have SKU's tied with their respectful PRODUCT TITLES, and once item is input into order using it's SKU, the title is recognized by the software automatically....Same should be done with automatic recognizing of SUPPLIER SKU/WAREHOUSE BIN  and it should be input in it's own column in purchase order. This way when orders are emailed to suppliers, they are very clear which of their products we are ordering. Most suppliers don't go by SKUs or product titles. They want their own items numbers, so that's the reason for this request. Please do your best to get this accomplished!!! Your programmers and IT guys are very talented people, it shouldn't take them too long to make it happen. If you'd like any details or clarification for my request, please reach out to me at World By Shotglass. You have my information on file. Thanks a lot!!!
