When shipping clothing, the weight of the package and the distance it travels will determine how much postage will cost. Postage costs will naturally increase as the weight and volume of your clothing shipment go up.

Clothing shipments tend to fall on the lighter side, which means shippers can take advantage of weight-based shipping options to save on postage costs. Even when packages are on the heavier side, there are still low-cost options to choose from. Package weight under 15.9 oz.

  • USPS First-Class Package Service is the cheapest shipping option for lightweight packages that include tracking.

  • Poly mailers are an inexpensive option for packaging clothes, usually costing pennies per pouch if you buy them in bulk.

  • USPS First-Class Package Service does not include any insurance coverage. If your clothing is difficult to replace, consider Priority Mail or adding insurance.

Package weight 1 lb. or over

  • Flat Rate Envelope and Flat Rate Padded Envelope
