Schedule UPS package pick up from ShippingEasy

Smaller shippers often do not have regularly scheduled package pick-up service with UPS.  As such, having the option to schedule pick-up from the ShippingEasy interface saves the extra step of calling or visiting UPS.com.

Hi everyone. I wanted to chime in to, firstly, say thanks for your feedback, but I also wanted to explain our options for pickup a little better.

Currently, we can offer scheduling the USPS pickup within ShippingEasy.

  • For FedEx you can schedule it via your FedEx.com account.

  • For UPS you can schedule daily pickup from your UPS.com account but Smart Pickup is not made available to third-party programs.

While we would love to offer more pickup options from within ShippingEasy, we are unable to at this time. For UPS Smart Pickup, we request that you reach out to your representative to suggest to allow support via the API.

I use UPS smart pick up saves a bit of money each week, only problem is i have to run my ups shipments outside of shipping easy

Hi Debra - I wanted to share a work around that our team recently discovered. 

Although it is not necessary to generate an End of Day form from WorldShip if you are printing postage from ShippingEasy - doing so will prompt Smart Pickup to recognize that you have packages to pick up.

If this works for you, I'd love to see an update here so that others might also be able to use this approach for the time being.

Hi Jennifer,

I am using UPS Sure Post and Ground with Smart Pickup and it never triggers for my Smart Pickup to come. We always have to do it manually from UPS.com website to schedule for Smart Pickup.

Hello Betty - Thanks for these details. They definitely help our team understand your use case for Smart Pickup. 

Presently, ShippingEasy does not support Smart Pickup. We are unable to notify UPS from the app if a Smart Pickup is needed.

By chance, have you tried generating an End of Day form for your UPS shipments? Our research shows that this should prompt the Smart Pickup system.

Hello Betty - Sorry for the confusion. When shipping via ShippingEasy, it's not necessary to generate an End of Day form for your UPS shipments as we'll send the order data to UPS each day automatically. As such, it is not possible to generate an End of Day form from ShippingEasy. Click here to learn more about why the End of Day isn't available in ShippingEasy.

That said, we've learned that the process of generating an End of Day form from within WorldShip should prompt your Smart Pickup.

Hi Jennifer,

If SE sends order data to UPS, how come it doesn't trigger for Smart Pick up? Would this be something available soon?

We don't use World Ship and also do not generate End of Day form. We have to schedule the pick up separately. But there has been times our warehouse forget to schedule so we do not have the pick up.

Hello Betty,

The Smart Pick Up is a feature we would consider supporting as it makes it easy to support, but it is a separate feature through the UPS API. We are monitoring the feature requests and considering this feature for prioritization.

You can also schedule a UPS pickup directly on the UPS pick  up:
