Manage Contact Tags | How To

Contact Tags enable you to group your contacts based on criteria that you define. Add tags that characterize customers as it's relevant to your business.
Then use these to filter your Contacts, create Contact Lists, and send Automated Campaigns.
Here are a few ways that you might use Contact Tags:

If you have Contacts who responded to a specific marketing campaign, you can create a tag for that Campaign.

If Contacts have expressed an interest in a soon to be released product - you can tag those Contacts. Then easily locate those Contacts later when you are ready to send a Campaign to announce that the product has arrived.
Note
To filter the Contacts on the CONTACTS page by tag, expand the "Tags" filter and enter the tags you want to use. Learn more about filtering Contacts.
Contact Tags can be added from:
Tags can be added to contacts one by one or in bulk. To begin, go to the CONTACTS page from the left navigation bar by clicking MARKETING > CONTACTS:

Click the name of the Contact your want to update.

click the Manage Tags button.

Type a tag name. If the tag has never been saved before, it will be created after hitting ENTER on your keyboard.

Click the X in the top right of the modal when you are done. The change is saved automatically.
Tags can be edited for contacts in bulk, using a CSV file upload.
When creating a CSV file, some important things to keep in mind when creating the CSV file.

Be sure to include all Tags that should be assigned to the customer.

You can add tags by re-uploading a CSV with a new tag. Re-uploading a CSV will not remove them.
Steps to Update Tags via CSV:

Download your Contacts contacts.

Open the downloaded CSV file.

Review the "Tags" column. Add or remove the tags as needed.
To remove Contact Tags from the CONTACTS page, follow these steps.

Click the name of the customer you wish to update on the CONTACTS page.

On the Contact Details page, click the Manage Tags button.
Or, click the Actions button and select "Remove Tag".

To remove a tag, click the X next to the tag name.
If there are multiple tags, uncheck with tags you would like to remove from the contact profile and then click Submit.
